Glass tower sells for US$50 million

The Central Bank is advertising the sale of the deluxe glass tower built on Lope de Vega and that would have served as the headquarters for the top echelons of the collapsed Baninter. The building was custom built for then Baninter president, Ramon Baez Figueroa. Baez was released after posting bail as the investigations into the collapse of the bank continue. The Central Bank is advertising the building along with other properties that are for sale after being repossessed from collapsed banks and other entities and individuals. Clave Digital, the online news service, reports that the asking price is US$50 million for the 21-floor office space tower fitted with a heliport on its last floor, and three underground parking levels.
