CODIA backs metro 100%

The Dominican College of Engineer, Architects (CODIA) gave its green light to the government for the construction of a first line of metro. The upper echelons of CODIA had supported the construction of the metro from the start but had announced that it would hold a workshop before making official its position. During the workshop, visiting speakers alerted that the cost of the metro would be well beyond the estimates projected by Metro Minister Diandino Pena and also alerted that the government would need to be prepared to meet high maintenance costs and governmental subsidies. The first metro line would be built north-south under the Maximo Gomez Avenue, continuing west onto Correa y Citron street. CODIA engineers expect to participation in the construction.
