A young 19 year old, named as the heir to Vantroi Serumberto Mota Reynoso, the infamous gang leader that turned himself in a few weeks ago, was shot and killed by a police patrol in an alleged shooting incident. Efraim de la Cruz Ramirez (Canario) had been accused of killing at least 10 persons and innumerable robberies in the La Fuente sector of Santo Domingo. His body was “riddled” by bullets after a police patrol found him at the Nueva Isabela projects. The police report says that a pistol, a revolver a shotgun, drugs and a cell phone were found on the deceased. Allegedly, Canario (the Canary) had seized control of the Vantroi operation when the latter turned himself in to the Police with the intervention of the Human Rights Committee. The Vantroi gang was allegedly responsible for the deaths of several young persons in disputes of the control of drug sales areas.
