The 21-floor 228-room Hilton Santo Domingo will be receiving its first guests during the first weeks of May as it prepares for its first major conference with around 600 participants. The 30th Annual Conference of the Caribbean Studies Association with the theme of Caribbean Cooperation in the Age of Information Society will open the state of the art conference facilities of the city hotel. The conference is scheduled for 30 May to 4 June.
The hotel is tailored to the needs of the meetings and business traveler. All rooms come with high-speed Internet access, three telephones, including speaker phone, and two-line telephones with dataport and voicemail. The hotel offers a 453 m2 (4,644 sq. ft) Hilton Meetings complex complete with two boardrooms, five flexible meeting rooms and a fully-equipped business center with four PC stations, color photocopy facilities, secretarial services and high speed Internet access. Additionally, a 1,107 m2 (7,203 sq. ft) ballroom with a 700-person capacity (banquet style), a 216 m2 (2,312 sq. ft) junior ballroom and a 227 m2 (2,430 sq. ft) foyer bring the hotel?s total meetings space to nearly 1,600 m2 (17,000 sq ft). Boardrooms for small executive meetings of 8-22 are also available.
The Hilton Santo Domingo overlooks the Caribbean Sea from its vantage position on the Malecon, adjacent to the Malecon Center residential and commercial tower complex. This is Hilton Caribbean?s 14th property in the Caribbean and fifth in the Dominican Republic.
