The case of accused drug transporter Quirino Paulino Castillo does not go away. Yesterday, former general and Army chief of staff, Jorge Radhames Zorilla Ozuna was interrogated by the district attorney for Santo Domingo in relation to the re-enlistment of Quirino Paulino as a member of the Army. After his session with the DA, Zorrilla Ozuna told reporters that he only followed a request from former Armed Forces Minister Jose Miguel Soto Jimenez. Zorrilla, in his own defense, presented a memorandum from Soto Jimenez that ordered Zorrilla to re-enlist Quirino Paulino as a first lieutenant on instruction from the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces at that time, former President Hipolito Mejia. The document was first published in a local newspaper in December 2004.
