Both the Civil Defense and the National Emergency Commission are getting ready for the upcoming “hurricane season” that begins 1 June. William Gray, the Colorado weather expert is predicting a “very active” season for tropical storm activity, with a higher than usual number of named storms. Gray and his team are predicting at least 12 named storms of which at least three are expected to reach “great intensity”, which means level 3,4, or 5 storms. Retired general Luis Luna Paulino, as head of both Civil Defense and the CNE, told reporters from El Caribe that communicaitons gear and private cell phone service is being distributed. Recruits are being enlisted for the time when they will be needed.
