UASD in Santiago

President Leonel Fernandez was in Santiago yesterday to inaugurate the new installations of the Centro Universitario Regional de Santiago, an extension of the UASD, the state university. The facilities cost RD$560 million. The government university center has four classroom buildings, chemistry, physics, engineering, architecture and graphic arts labs building and a modern library with halls for masters studies, two Internet halls, and reading rooms with capacity for 576 students, as well as 35,000 books.

During his visit to Santiago, President Fernandez also inaugurated a RD$40 million fish and shrimp farm and a RD$125 million potable water treatment plant.
