The PKRA Kiteboarding World Cup 2005, sponsored by Presidente Beer, will take
place 22-26 June in Cabarete, Puerto Plata. This is the third of six stops on
the Professional Kiteboard Riders Association 2005 World Tour. Cabarete is known
for hosting the most spectacular kiteboarding events. Unbelievable conditions
ensure the best in the world will be here to show their stuff. You’ll see the
highest air and the latest tricks while competitors go for $36,000 US dollars in
prize money. As anyone who has been to Cabarete knows, this place is what fun in
the sun and kiteboarding dreams are made of. And it doesn’t stop when the sun
goes down… The event’s nightly parties promise to be hotter than ever. A
separate pre-qualifying event, open to Dominican National riders only, will be
held in front of the Kite Beach Hotel on Kite Beach the weekend prior to the
main event, June 18 & 19. The top six riders — four men and two women – will
proceed into the main event.
