75,000 candidates in the PRD internal elections

More than 75,000 candidates are vying for positions in the Dominican Revolutionary Party’s political structure. The party elections are scheduled for Sunday, 12 June, according to the organizing committee. The party has 1,024 boards at the national, provincial, municipal, zonal levels, and others abroad.

Candidates competing at a national level for the presidency of the PRD are Jose Rafael Abinader, Ramon Alburquerque, Virgilio Bello Rosa, Emmanuel Esquea Guerrero and Eugenio Martin Taveras. For the secretary general position, the contenders are Orlando Jorge Mera, Guido Gomez Mazara, Anibal Belliard, Amaury Justo Duarte, Alejandro Abreu, Rafael Diaz Filpo and Almanzor Gonzalez Canahuate. The national organization secretary position is being sought by Dario Castillo, Anibel Garia Duverge, Geanilda Vasquez, Deligne Asencion and Juan Santos.
