The DR remained unbeaten in the Pan American Volleyball Cup after defeating Costa Rica 3-0 (25-9, 25-7, 25-9) at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center in Santo Domingo. With this game, the DR is tied with Brazil – who beat Venezuela in consecutive sets – in Group A. Dominican coach Francisco Cruz said he was happy with the young players’ performance. Dhiana Burgos and Priscilla Rivera were the top scoring Dominican players, with 15 and 11 points respectively. In other games Puerto Rico beat Argentina, while Cuba beat Jamaica in consecutive sets reaching a 4-0 standing in Group B. The US continued tied with Cuba in the same group after beating Canada 3-0 (25-11, 26-24, 25-14).
