Jorge Subero Isa, President of the Supreme Court of Justice, says that the Criminal Court’s decisions are public, thus the press has access to them, as reported in Diario Libre. Subero was responding to US Ambassador Hans Hertell’s concerns about the publicity given to the last list of 14 men requested in extradition by the US. They had arrest warrants from the court. “The Supreme Court decisions ordering or authorizing the arrest of individuals wanted in extradition are public, and that makes them subject to access and reporting by the press” said Subero. He admitted there could be a conflict of interest between those who do not want the names made public so as not to hinder their arrest, and the right of the press to publish the information.
