Three extradited in Quirino case

Yesterday morning, Dominican authorities turned in three men requested for extradition by the US in connection with the case of 1,387 kilos of cocaine seized last December in Santo Domingo. The principal suspect in the case is Quirino Ernesto Paulino Castillo, who is awaiting trail in the US on drug trafficking charges. Diario Libre reports that the three men sent to New York accompanied by Dominican and US drug enforcement agents are Richard Mejia Pena, Jose Burdiez de Leon and Carlos Villavizar Guzman. The men were taken to the airport in handcuffs and shackles on their feet, under heavy security measures.
