After the government agreed to pay RD$3 million to the vendors that had illegally taken one of the city’s green areas, the 45 vendors began dismantling their business sites from public land. Likewise, public transport union Conatra announced it too would be relocating, after accepting an offer to relocate to the former dog-racing track, the Canodromo, that is located along the same highway. The municipal authorities sent a truck to help the vendors relocate and agreed to pay them RD$12,000 a month until they got their businesses going again.
