The Central Bank announced that 10 capital and finance companies of international and national reputation presented their credentials last Monday to participate in the tender for the acquisition and/or operation of three packages of loan portfolios representing a total of US$150 million corresponding to the banks rescued from the crisis in 2003. The news appears in the Listin Diario and says the presentation of credentials was made by the companies in response to an international public offer announced by the Central Bank on 1 June 2005. The companies are from the US, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Puerto Rico and the DR and are in the Registry of Eligible Companies created by the Asset Realization Policy Committee as a result of the pre-qualifying tender announced by the Central Bank on 28 February 2005. The bank informed that in a public meeting on 5 July 2005, each company would present its firm technical and economic proposal, based on its independent evaluation of the value of the credits offered in the auction.
