Former police second lieutenant Luis Reyes Mendoza, allegedly connected to the Quirino Ernesto Paulino Castillo case, decided to turn himself in voluntarily to the US, according to Listin Diario. US authorities are accusing the former police officer of having an account containing approximately six million dollars in a US bank and they believe the money is the result of drug sales in the US. Paulino Castillo is in detention in the US awaiting trail on drug trafficking and money laundering charges. He is the alleged head of a group connected to the seizure of more the 1,300 kilos of cocaine in Santo Domingo last December.
