The National Drug Control Department (DNCD) arrested 13 men: two Venezuelans and 11 Dominicans, involved in the seizure of 76 kilos 130 grams of cocaine in a boat near Caracoles Beach in Hatillo, Azua. According to the DNCD, the drug was in the possession of an international drug trafficking network. This is the second seizure of drugs carried out by authorities during the past week. Six of the men arrested had been deported from the US after completing their terms there for drug trafficking. The DNCD accuses Dominican Francisco Humberto Camino Perez of being the leader of the group which is made up of Venezuelans Jesus Felix Cedeno and Jesus Rafel Lugo, and Dominicans Leonardo Vilorio Rodriguez, Menielix Alberto del Orbe, Alfredo Vasquez, Nelson Yovanny Pena, Francisco Orlando Tavares, Francisco Vilomar Matos, Carlos Junior Rosario, Miguel Bienvenido Diaz and Enrique Julio Veras Heriquez. Vilorio Rodriguez was arrested by the DNCD at the corner of John F. Kennedy and Nunez de Caceres Avenues in Santo Domingo. The DNCD is searching the area where the drug was seized.
