During a visit to the DR consulate in New York, Foreign Relations Minister Carlos Morales Troncoso announced that a conference on governance would be held in Santo Domingo on 9 and 10 August 2005, according to Clave Digital. The conference will be attended by important international political personalities such as former Chilean President Patricio Alwyn. Morales commended the Chilean political model and pointed out that the DR has maintained contact with leaders of the political parties in Chile that make up the Chilean government coalition.
