Orange to invest US$50 million

During a visit to Listin Diario, Brigitte Gourgoin and Frederic Debord, International Executive Vice President and local President of wireless telephone service provider Orange, announced that the company plans to invest US$50 million this year to expand its services in the country. Currently, Orange has 36% of the mobile telephone market with more than 900,000 users. In November, Orange will celebrate its fifth year of operations in the DR, with a total investment of US$350 million, according to the company executives. One of the innovations for the company will be wireless internet service. Orange has no plans to invest in the residential telephone market.
