Former colonel Pedro Julio “Pepe” Goico Guerrero has said he would turn himself in to the Dominican authorities without the need to have him arrested in Spain and extradited to the DR, according to District Attorney Jose Manuel Hernandez Peguero. As reported in Diario Libre, the DA said that Goico has said that he does not want his arrival in the DR to be compulsory. However, the International Police (Interpol) already has the arrest warrant issued by judge Rosalba Garib Holguin. Goico, who was a security assistant to former President Hipolito Mejia, is accused of involvement in the sale of a Colibri helicopter to former captain Quirino Ernesto Paulino Castillo, who is facing drug trafficking and money laundering charges in the US.
