USAID invests in biogas

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is investing more than RD$4 million in a bio-digester project in Licey al Medio. According to Diario Libre, the equipment works using pig excrement for the production of biogas and organic fertilizer. Biogas is used for cooking and lighting, among other uses. Four bio-digesters have already been installed in the communities of La Reyna, Las Lomas and El Higuerito.
