Public Health Minister Bautista Rojas Gomez has said that his ministry will invest RD$431.6 million in the refurbishment and modernization of the country’s hospital infrastructure. According to a report in El Caribe, RD$234 million will be invested in the completion of medical facilities in Los Girasoles and San Cristobal in Puerto Plata; Bohechia in San Juan de la Maguana; Ingenio Consuelo in San Pedro de Macoris, and Restauracion in Dajabon. RD$25 million will be invested in rural clinics of Montones in Santiago, El Mamey, El Mamon, La Llanura and Las Lajas de Yarda in Puerto Plata. Also on the list are Las Gordas in Nagua, La Rancha del Cercado and Los Limones in Sabana Grande de Boya, among others.
