The Department of Taxes (DGII) has announced that wages paid this month are exempt from income taxes up to RD$276,422 a year, or RD $23,035 per month. Those making RD$276,422.01 to RD$414,632 will pay 15% or RD$20,732. Those making RD$414,632.01 to RD$575,878 will pay RD$20,732 plus 20% of the surplus over RD$414,632.01. Those making RD$575,878.01 to RD$900,000 will pay RD$52,981 plus 25% of the surplus of RD$575,878.01. Revenues over RD$900,000.01 will pay RD$134,012 plus 30% of the surplus. The tax exemption takes into account the 7.44% inflation rate.
