Health centers for security plan neighborhoods

The Ministry of Public Health is planning to extend the government’s programs in the 13 neighborhoods included in the Democratic Security Plan so that in addition to being “Safe Neighborhoods” they will also become “Healthy Neighborhoods”, according to Public Health Minister Bautista Rojas Gomez. Diario Libre reports that medical centers will be set up, providing assistance in general medicine, internship, pediatric and gynecological-obstetrics to all residents. This will be a permanent service “24 hours a day and 7 days a week, including the supply of medicines that are part of the Basic Health Plan”, stated the minister. Rojas Gomez was speaking during a press conference at the Presidential Palace. He explained that this plan is aimed at reducing the burden on hospitals. He expects the plan to be up and running during the first quarter of this year. Currently, the “Safe Neighborhood Plan” is in effect in Gualey, Villas Agricolas, 27 de Febrero, Simon Bolivar, Espaillat, Capotillo, Las Canitas, 24 de Abril, Luperon, Los Guandules, Guachupita, La Cienaga and La Zurza.
