A survey carried out by the Instituto Nacional de Opinion Publica, a public opinion polling institute affiliated to the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (Funglode), reveals that 56% of the population considers that almost all or many government officers and employees are corrupt. Likewise 47.6% of the population does not believe the government cares what they think, compared to only 37.7% that believes that the government cares. Likewise, 74.8% of Dominicans believe that democracy is the best form of government, and 74.3% believe that under no circumstance their democratic rights should be restricted.
Some 1,972 individuals were polled.
