Don’t we all? An organization from Santiago, the Public Security Volunteers (Voses) has supported the government’s plan against crime “Safe Neighborhood” which is being implemented by the Attorney General’s Department, the Ministry of Interior and Police, and the Police Department, and asked that the plan be replicated in seven neighborhoods there. Diario Libre reports that they are asking for the plan as soon as possible due to the high incidence of crime in La Otra Banda, Cienfuegos, Gurabo, Pekin, Yaguita de Pastor, Ensanche Bermudez, and Ensanche Espaillat. The plan is already in operation in 13 neighborhoods in Santo Domingo. Voses is directed by Marcos Cabral and its members include representatives of the Catholic Church, businessmen, City Hall, the District Attorney Department, the Provincial Governor’s Department, and several neighborhood associations.
