Dominican air space used by traffickers

Aircraft from Venezuela have been using Dominican air space as bridging for drug trafficking activities according to sources quoted by El Caribe. The aircraft are said to move slowly and at low altitude making their surveillance difficult. An alleged crew member of an aircraft that landed on Autovia del Este in La Romana, Antonio Radhames Suarea Perez, 45, is in custody at Santa Rosa Prison in that city, after an instruction judge ordered three months preventive prison against the accused. Others caught that used forged passports and multiple identities are Juan Antonio Alvarez Aguasvivas and Juan Crisostomo Alvarez. Suarea was arrested 27 January but the information was not disclosed until now.
