The IMF likes what it sees

The visiting mission from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has praised the Dominican Republic’s macro-economic achievements. The mission also has high hopes for the measures taken by President Fernandez with regard to the electricity situation. Mission chief Guy Meredith told reporters from Hoy that his team was “very impressed” with the progress seen in the development of macro-economic and structural policies. Meredith said that in spite of all the problems in the electricity sector, he was confident that President Fernandez would obtain a satisfactory solution.
