Dozens of Congress employees have been working hard, changing carpets, light bulbs, waxing floors, and painting the building where President Leonel Fernandez will address the National Assembly and the country on Monday, the 27 of February with his report on the government’s performance over the last year. Fernandez will present and submit a message to Congress, which includes the reports from his government’s ministers, in accordance with article 55 of the Constitution.
On occasion of Independence Day, a military parade will be held on Monday. A mixed division made up of 3,000 members of the Armed Forces and the Police are preparing for the parade, which will take place along Santo Domingo’s seafront avenue, the Malecon.
