Infrastructure for northern provinces

President Leonel Fernandez announced that the government is to invest RD$9.6 billion in infrastructure projects that will benefit more than three million people in the north of the country. The President spoke during a meeting with governors and representatives of provincial development councils. Diario Libre reports that the communities defined their own priorities and will also have the possibility of supervising the performance of the work, which is scheduled throughout this year. The President emphasized that this way of working would make the investment more efficient and transparent, and would yield better results.
