The president of the Canadian Foundation for the Americas, John Graham, will lecture on “The OAS: How does its mandate coincide with its challenges?” at Fundacion Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) next Friday, 17 March, at 7pm. Both organizations will sign a cooperation agreement. According to Clave Digital, Graham was the leading international mediator in the 1994 post-electoral crisis in the Dominican Republic. He was the first head of the Unit for the Promotion of Democracy of the Organization of American States (OAS) and has served the Canadian Foreign Relations Ministry on diplomatic missions to Santo Domingo and Havana. Some of his publications have been “A Magna Carta for the Americas, the Inter-American Democratic Charter”, “Shaping Stability in Central America”, “Canada and the OAS: Terra Incognita”, “Black Past, Grey Future? A Post-Dayton View of Bosnia-Herzegovina”
