The period established by the Electoral Law for the publishing of the congressional and municipal candidates that will participate in the 16 May election is now past. But the Central Electoral Board (JCE), for the first time in recent electoral history, is late in publishing the list. Diario Libre reports that the board of the JCE approved on Monday the list of candidates presented by the parties. Art. 13 of the Electoral Law obliges the electoral body to publish these within a day of the session. Diario Libre reports that the JCE is also violating Art. 71 that requires that the secretary of the JCE post a list of the candidates on the same day they receive it.
