Judge Cespedes Reyes sentenced a former Central Electoral Board employee to 30 years in jail after he was found guilty of the rape of nine women, including an under-age girl. The court also ordered him to pay RD$500,000 to one of the victims. The judge said that Nestor Alfredo Fuentes Camarena was sentenced to 30 years – the maximum sentence permitted by Dominican penal code. His lawyers had requested a one-year jail sentence.
