The Ministry of Education and the Dominican College of Journalists have announced that the recipient of this year’s National Press Prize is Mario Alvarez Dugan, the editor of Hoy newspaper and author of the very enjoyable “Coctelera” column. The prize, begun in 1994, praises Alvarez Dugan for the professional quality of his work as well as for his ethics. The prize will be awarded next Tuesday at the National Theater. The winner was selected by unanimous vote and rewards a lifetime of work by Mario Alvarez Dugan.
