A list of vehicles reported stolen in the United States and brought to the Dominican Republic by freight carriers was presented by the US Embassy, according to Clave Digital. The Armed Forces Intelligence Directorate (G-2) and the Police Stolen Vehicle Department have the customs and tax files of several of the vehicles being claimed. The vehicles are reportedly withdrawn from Dominican ports with fake documents. According to a military intelligence source, the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) is participating with Dominican authorities in the tracking and seizure of the vehicles, which were stolen in New York, Boston, Miami, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and New Jersey. Among the vehicles are SUVs, and Mercedes Benz, BMW, Honda, Toyota and Volvo cars. Also pickup trucks of several brands and models.
