Actress Isabella Rosellini, director Luis Llosa, author Mario Vargas Llosa and actor Tomas Milian were in Santo Domingo for the premiere of “The Feast of the Goat.”
Part of the press contingent that was invited to last night’s advance screening of “The Feast of the Goat” actually applauded the film when it finished and praised the production, as reported by El Caribe. Based on the novel by Mario Vargas Llosa, “The Feast of the Goat” is a portrayal of ruthless Dominican dictator Rafael Leonidas Trujillo Molina, and the scars he left behind, many of which remain latent in the country’s society. Actress Isabella Rosellini, director Luis Llosa, author Mario Vargas Llosa and actor Tomas Milian held a press conference after the preview, during which the author praised the film “for presenting, among many characteristics of a dictatorship, and above all, one as total as Trujillo’s, the effects that something of this sort has on the private lives of people”.
