Celebrities at Paradisus Palma Real

Academy Award-winning actress Marcia Gay Harden, Oscar nomineee Matt Dillon, actors Giancarlo Esposito, Joe Pantoliano, Robert Davi, and Jonathan Silverman were just a few of the more than 30 television, sports and movie stars that were in Punta Cana last week for the 2006 Paradisus Palma Real Sports Invitational Dominican Republic, held 10-14 May. Hosted by the Ministry of Tourism at the brand new Paradisus Palma Real, celebrities played beach volleyball, paddled in kayaking races, teed-off in a 4-ball scramble at Cocotal Golf Coruse and tried hteir hand during a poker tournament. There were Domincian cigar rolling, merengue dancing competitions, too. The mission was also to raise money for the Dream Foundation, a US charity whose mission is to enhance the quality of life for individuals and families battling terminal illness. This year’s Sports Invitational raised more than US$340,000 for the foundation.
