Ann Layton gets DR PR account

The Ministry of Tourism has announced the appointment of a new public relations and advertising company for the Canadian market. Siren Communications, represented by Ann Layton, now has the DR account.

Layton was introduced during a dinner organized by the Dominican Republic Tourism Office. Some 75 media, including the Journal de Montreal, Metro, La Presse, Le Soleil, were present at the event. Susana Rosa, director of the Montreal tourism office, and her assistant Viocary Feliz, were the hosts for the event. Abdalah Castillo, director of the Toronto Dominican Republic Tourist Office also hosted the press.

Formerly the vice president for public affairs and communications for the leading Canadian hotel companies, Fairmont and Canadian Pacific, Layton has made a name for herself as an expert on sustainable tourism development and green partnership programs.

A strong believer in private/public sector cooperation, Layton was the first-ever Chair of the Media Relations Committee (Americas) for the Canadian Tourism Committee. She has worked with the Communications Committee of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) in London and is an advocate of tourism as an important economic driver. She is a graduate from the London School of Economics (England) and is fluent in Spanish.
