The National Choir kicks off the Christmas spirit with a Tuesday 5 December concert at the Capilla de los Remedios in the Colonial City at 8pm. This coincides with the lighting up of the Columbus Lighthouse’s giant cross at 6:30pm.
The National Choir continues its concert schedule with recitals scheduled for Thursday, 7 December at the Colegio Santo Domingo, Friday, 8 December at the Iglesia de Cristo de Santo Domingo, and 9 December at the Cuesta Bookstore.
On Wednesday, 13 December, the National Choir is booked for performances at the Convento de los Dominicos in the Colonial City and at the Parroquia Santo Toribio of Los Rios on Saturday, 16 December.
On the 20 December, the National Choir will be in Higuey, for a memorable concert at the Basilica Nuestra Senora de la Altagracia at 3pm.
The National Symphony Orchestra launches its seasonal schedule with a Wednesday, 6 December concert at 8pm at the Convento de los Dominicos. This continues with a Friday, 8 December concert at Plaza de Espana, conducted by Maestro Dante Cucurullo, which is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism.
The Santo Domingo Cathedral’s Christmas concert is on Christmas Eve. It’s advisable to arrive at 7pm to get seats. The concert begins at 8pm-sharp because it is televised.
