The Dominican Republic continues to be the country, outside of the United States, with the most players on Major League Baseball rosters. This year, 98 Dominicans are on the rosters of the National and American League teams. Venezuela follows with 51 players, Puerto Rico has 28, Canada has 19 participants, and there are 13 Mexicans. Four Dominican players also made the list of those with contracts for over US$100 million this year – Alex Rodriguez (Texas, US$252 million), Manny Ramirez (Boston, US$160 million), Alfonso Soriano (Chicago, US$136 million) and Albert Pujols (St. Louis, US$100 million).
