Cabarete is reading itself for the electrifying action when the skies fill with performing athletes this June. From 26-31 June, Cabarete will host the Professional Kite Boarding Championship. The DR is hoping that Cabarete’s own 20-year old Alex Soto may win the tournament competing with 100 athletes from around the world. Cabarete, in Puerto Plata, on the north coast, is required as the prime kiteboarding destination in the world given the natural conditions of the beach and the variety of day and nighttime activities in the environs.
