Agua Resort & Spa rightly promotes itself as an oasis of seclusion
and serenity in the Uvero Alto section of Punta Cana coast. The
boutique small hotel opened in May and is revving up for its first
winter season. The hotel was designed by leading Dominican architect
Antonio Segundo Imbert, seconded by also prestigious Dominican
decorator Patricia Reid. Their touches show in the original details
such as walkways that weave throughout the property, and touches of
Caribbean color and details amid basic decorating in whites. There
are only 53 spacious villas and guest rooms and each come with
amenities such as Frette linens, Korres bath products, pillow menu,
spacious bathrooms with separate showers, and wi-fi service. There is
24-hour room service and twice-daily maid service. On site are three
restaurants, commanded by executive chef Edgar Gonzalez Barrado from
the three-Michelin star Arzak in San Sebastian, Spain. There are two
freshwater swimming pools, a beachfront infinity pool, fitness room.
Spa facilities include an indoor water circuirt with Finnish steam
rooms and saunas, bubble inox beds, cervical waterfall, sensations
shower and ice fountain and more. There are local treatments using
coconut, pineapple and sugarcane.
