Apple Vacations celebrates million tourists

Apple Vacations and their Dominican partnerAmstar DMC and USA3000
celebrated the arrival of their millionth tourist to Punta Cana last
week. The 168 tourists on board Friday, 25 October flight were
honored for breaking the one million mark. Tim Mullen, executive vice
president of Apple Vacations traveled to Punta Cana for the
celebration. Apple Vacations has become the tour operator to bring
the most travelers to the Dominican Republic. Mullen pointed out that
Apple Vacations is more than a tour operator. He highlighted company
investments in hotels, offices, and new service technology. Apple
Vacations began their Punta Cana operations in 1997 with two flights
a week. Today, the company handles 32 flights a week, with over 5,000
passengers from 13 US cities. In 2006, Apple Vacations was named Best
Caribbean Tour Operator by Recommend Magazine and Best Tour Operator
to Mexico by Travel Weekly.
