The Dominican Republic representative at the Miss World pageant, Ada Aimee de la Cruz, has won the Beach Fashion Show Beach Beauty crown, a fast-track ticket to the Miss World 2007 contest semi-finals in Sanya, China. In third place was the People’s Republic of China and in second place Jamaica. Miss DR was born in Villa Mella, Santo Domingo.
In preparation for the final, the 106 contestants are visiting popular spots in China and are being filmed touring venues that will be used in the 2008 Olympic Games. The event highlights include the Beach Fashion Show, where Miss DR won the beachwear title, the Hainan Carnival Parade Boao, visits to Beijing sites such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and the Summer Place, and participation in a Red Cross Ball and the Dynasties Fashion Show.
The contestants arrived in China on 2 November.
