Miss Spain 2008 has moved to the beaches of the DR at the invitation of the Spanish Globalia hotel and airline group (Air Europa, Air Dominicana and Oasis hotels). The 52 candidates, who will compete for the right to represent Spain at the 2008 Miss Universe contest are here until 13 February and will tour cultural and nature sites, which will provide lovely settings for photographs.
Francisco Perez, regional director of Miss Spain, said they would be visiting the beaches of Boca Chica, Juan Dolio, Bayahibe and other parts of the country. The group is also traveling with 28 Spanish journalists.
The Ministry of Tourism is collaborating in the promotion. The Miss Spain contest will be televised on Television Espanola’s Channel 5.
This promotion follows last year’s Miss France, which brought the French beauty contestants to the DR for visits to Casa de Campo in La Romana, and Samana.
