Puerto Plata will be hosting the World Poker Showdown at the Ocean World Casino in Cofresi from 9 to 18 May. Players are expected from the US, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Bahamas, Panama, Venezuela and the DR. The main event will be held on 17 May, from 2pm until late, and then restarting on 18 May at 12 noon until finish. The entrance fee is US$2,650. A few days before the main event, there will be live satellite tournaments with a US$340 entry fee. Players can also qualify online on TitanPoker.com, Pacific Poker.com and JonWoodpoker.net
Overseas registration (from outside of the DR) for the main event can be done via wire transfer to Ocean world direct (for people who do not like traveling with cash).
