The head of the National Central for Unified Transporters (CNTU) Pepe Abreu criticized that the government after keeping the price of LPG frozen for 9 weeks, authorized a slight reduction of just RD$1.80 when there should have been at least a RD$15 reduction. He called this a mockery of the people. He says a gallon of propane gas should be selling for RD$47.00, a gallon of gasoline should be RD$110.00 and a gallon of diesel should be at RD$100.00. He said that the people are paying for fuels as if the price of a barrel of oil was US$160 and not at around US$80 as it is today.
Abreu said that the population is impotent in the face of the continuous fuel price increases that the government is ordering in clear violation of the Hydrocarbon Law.
