Caribbean Investment Conference

The world’s leading minds in the tourism industry will be presenting their predictions for tourism recovery at The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Investment Conference (CHTIC), which takes place at the Puerto Rico Convention Center, 4-6 May 2010.

Presentations by the World Tourism Organization, the World Travel & Tourism Council, Smith Travel Research, KPMG, and others will provide delegates with a global perspective of the tourism industry and how the Caribbean compares.

The extensive list of speakers features ministers of tourism, chief executives of major hotel brands and a host of expert panelists for the diverse two-day program that includes workshops on the economics of being green, the effect of national infrastructure on the tourism industry and also for the first time this year, a panel session and a workshop on Cuba. This panel consists of experts who are actively involved with Cuban policies and their impact on Caribbean tourism, including Emily Morris who writes for the Economist Intelligence Unit on the subject.

Keynote addresses are scheduled by Puerto Rico Governor Luis Fortuno and Robert Crandall, former AMR Corporation Chairman and CEO.
