Leading real estate and hotel companies of Samana have come together as the Association of Hotels and Tourism Companies of Samana (AEHTSA).
Cynthia Vega, of Bahia Estillero, is the first president of the organization. During the new group presentation at the National Hotel & Restaurant Association in Santo Domingo, Vega said the new organization would work for the orderly and sustainable growth of Samana, taking advantage of the natural, cultural and social attractions of the region. They hope to integrate tourism businesses for an active participation in the development of the region.
Other board members are: Julio Llibre (Coral Hospitality Corp.), Enrique L. Pacheco (Aerodom), Ernesto Selman Mejia, (Nexos RD), Jose Miguel Barcelo Vallejo, (Marina Puerto Bonito), Jose A. Quiroz Abreu, (DMK Abogados), Ramon E. Prieto Vicioso (Promotores de Desarrollo El Portillo), Cruz Apestegui (Rincon Bay), Rafael Blanco Canto (Viva), Rafael Velasco Espaillat (Compania de Electricidad de Bayahibe), Juan Francisco Bancalari (Playa Dosu), Jaime Barcelo Bermejo (Balcones del Atlantico) and Jose Miguel Gonzalez Cuadra (Centro Cuesta Nacional).
Fabeth Martinez is the first executive director of AEHTSA. She says they would work closely with the Tourism Cluster of Samana, Tourism Cluster of El Limon and government institutions.
