As a warm-up for the Christmas holidays, the 4th Santo Domingo Music Festival takes off on Sunday, 5 December on the Santo Domingo Malecon. The event is sponsored by the City Government of Santo Domingo and Presidente Beer. There will be live performances of merengue, bachata, salsa, typical merengue, pop ballads, rock, reggaetton, DJs, hip-hop and folk dancing. Five stages will be set up on the Malecon for the free shows from Sunday afternoon through late in the evening.
