Travel agents worldwide have chosen Casa de Campo as the 2010 World’s Leading Golf Resort, 2010 Caribbean’s Leading Golf Resort, 2010 Dominican Republic’s Leading Golf Resort and 2010 Dominican Republic’s Leading Resort. The La Romana resort was recognized as part of the 17th World Travel Awards ceremony. The distinction follows the hotel’s extensive renovation in 2010.
The announcement was made at the Grand Finale 2010 Ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House hotel. The event has been described as “The Oscars of the Travel Industry” by the Wall Street Journal. WTA 2010 nominations featured 5,000 companies in 1,000 categories across 162 countries. The winners were selected by thousands of industry professionals and consumers worldwide who have been voting online.
Claudio Silvestri, CEO of Premier Resorts & Hotels that operates Casa de Campo, received the award.
Casa de Campo has also been honored every year since 2001.
